Academic counselling is a fundamental component of student success and academic development at Freshart College. In recognition of its importance, the College assigns an academic advisor to each student upon enrolment. The advisor serves as a key point of contact and provides guidance throughout the student’s academic journey.
Students are encouraged to contact their academic advisor for support on a range of academic and personal matters. Those who are uncertain about their educational goals, academic progression, or study choices may seek constructive advice and assistance from their advisor. Each semester or academic session, student advisors support students in selecting appropriate courses, planning their class schedules, and ensuring that their studies align with programme requirements and long-term objectives.
The College experience offers numerous opportunities for personal growth, creativity, and development, but it may also present challenges. At times, students may experience difficulty adjusting to new academic, social, or personal demands and may feel stressed, isolated, overwhelmed, or emotionally affected. Such challenges may vary in nature and intensity; however, when left unaddressed, they can negatively impact a student’s academic performance and overall well-being.
Academic advisors at Freshart College provide empathetic support, informed guidance, and practical advice, helping students navigate these challenges effectively. Through ongoing counselling and encouragement, advisors assist students in developing resilience, independence, and self-awareness, enabling them to identify their own strengths and resources and to manage difficulties in a constructive and confident manner.
