Yay! It’s your first day at the college, the beginning of your academic journey! It is normal to feel anxiety on your first day at the college, however, you can find below some tips to help you prepare yourself on your first day. Make it a fun day instead and ensure the memory is something you will always reminisce with smiles.
GO EARLY
When you arrive at the campus early, you can use enough time to move around the campus and explore the college.
PACK YOUR ESSENTIALS
You won’t need a lot of things on your first day, but it helps to be prepared. Make sure you’ve got:
- Diary / Notebook / Textbook to take notes
- Stationery including pens, pencils, highlighters
- Laptop / Tablet
- Cables for your electronic devices
- Snacks
- Money for a coffee
DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP
There is plenty of support available to you as a student at FCA. Reach out to your lecturers, tutors, program leaders, and other college support services anytime you feel stuck.

You did it! You made it through your first day of college. It may have been stressful, but take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that the first day is always the hardest. You’ve prepared, so try to relax, and go with the flow.
