Students with Disabilities and Learning Difficulties

Disability and Learning Support

Freshart College is committed to an inclusive learning environment and to ensuring equal access and fair assessment for all students, in line with Cypriot legislation, EHEA principles, and ESG standards.

The College recognises that some students may experience disabilities or learning difficulties, including conditions that are not immediately visible, and may require reasonable academic adjustments.

Who This Support Is For

Support is available to students who may experience, among others:

  • Dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia
  • ADHD or autism spectrum conditions
  • Mental health difficulties (e.g. anxiety, depression)
  • Physical, sensory, or long-term health conditions
  • Any condition affecting learning or assessment

Students do not need to formally identify as “disabled” to request support.

What Support May Be Offered

Depending on individual needs, support may include:

  • Learning materials in advance (where feasible)
  • Individual academic guidance
  • Flexible deadlines in justified cases
  • Additional time or alternative exam arrangements
  • Clearly structured or alternative assessments

Support removes barriers while maintaining academic standards.

How to Request Support

Students may contact Student Welfare Services at any stage of their studies.

A confidential discussion will take place, and agreed adjustments will be shared with relevant academic staff on a need-to-know basis.

Formal documentation is not required for an initial discussion.
